Visiting the McConnell Mansion
Beginning June 16th, 2020, the McConnell Mansion will be open for tours on a by-appointment basis. Tours will be limited to one party at a time in order for our docents and staff to ensure proper social distancing measures are practiced and that high-touch surfaces are properly disinfected after each visit.
Tours of up to 6 individuals may be scheduled online using the button below, or by calling the historical society's office at 208.882.1004. We ask that tour requests be made by 9:00am the day of your desired visit. Tours are available from 1:00 to 4:00pm, Tuesday through Friday, as well as some Saturdays.
Individual tours of the McConnell Mansion are available Tuesday through Saturday, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to stroll through the mansion on their own, or they may request to be given a guided tour from one of our docents.
Please note that if we do not have a volunteer scheduled to docent during the week, guests may visit the Centennial Annex to request a tour. Our staff is usually availavble to give impromptu tours. If you are visiting on a Saturday, please check our facebook page to see if the mansion will be open (depending upon whether we have a docent available).
School & Group Tours
If you would like to schedule a tour for a large group, we ask that you call ahead to arrange a tour in advance. Please let us know how many people are in your group, the age range, number of adults chaperoning (if it's a school tour), and preferences for tour date and time. We will do our best to work with your scheduling needs.
We've recently developed a new tour specifically geared towards elementary school aged children.
Bus travel stipends are available. If your classroom is outside of Moscow in Latah County and you are interested in visiting the McConnell Mansion, please contact our office for more details.
