The Board, with the help of an investment advisor, manages a portfolio of investments purchased with donations to the endowment from the Society's Annual Campaigns, legacy gifts from estates and memorial gifts. These donations continue to deliver support to the Society, year after year.

Carefully following investment policy guidelines to preserve capital, the Foundation Board annually determines a payout to the Society from portfolio earnings. In recent years the payout has provided over one third of the Society's annual budget.

Since inception, the Foundation's support has enabled expansion of staff and services which allows the Latah County Historical Society to better deliver on its mission.
